Oklahoma Teen Driver Education
Course
• This course satisfies both the 30-hour driver education classroom
requirement and the 55-hour behind-the-wheel requirement.
• In order for your teen to receive his or her learner’s permit,
they must provide proof of either enrollment or completion of a
driver education program.
Course Information:
The Oklahoma Drivers Ed
course contains 8 units, which are divided into 45 total
modules. The first few units of the course focus on the Highway
Transportation System. The remaining units are focused on
providing you with safe driving strategies. The information
teens learn by taking the Oklahoma Teen Driver Education
course is invaluable in making the road safer both for
themselves and others.
The behind-the-wheel
segment of the course is incorporated into the end of
chapters 5 through 7. You will receive printable guides that
will help you teach your child how to drive. At the end of each
unit there is a review that will help your teen retain the
information they learn throughout the Oklahoma Drivers Ed course. Each module ends
with a series of multiple choice questions. These must be
answered correctly with a score of at least 80% in order to move
onto the next module. Teens may retake the quizzes as many times
as needed in order to pass.
Final Exam:
Your teen must take a
final examination before he or she can receive a Certificate of
Completion. The final exam consists of 50 multiple choice
questions that are selected to ensure that your child has the
knowledge they need in order to be a successful, confident
driver. The final exam may be retaken multiple times.
Completion Certificate:
After completing the
course, a Certificate of Completion will be processed and mailed
directly to the address of your choice. Your teen must present
their completion certificate to the DMV when applying for an
intermediate driver license. Teens that have successfully
completed a driver education course in the state of Oklahoma are
only required to hold their intermediate license for 6 months
before obtaining an unrestricted license.
