Awareness Course
• This course was designed for drivers age 55 and older.
• Public Law 2001, Chapter 130 requires auto insurance companies
to provide a discount to qualified individuals who complete this
course.
Course Information:
Traffic laws are always
changing; that’s why it’s important for drivers to periodically
take a refresher course like the Maine Mature Driving
Course. This course is comprised of 6 units, which are
further divided modules. After each unit you must take a short
quiz that will help you determine which material you need to
review before attempting the final exam. You may retake these
quizzes until you receive a passing score. Thanks to our
automated system, you may complete the Maine Mature Driving
course at your desired pace. Once you register with NDSS, you
will have 24/7 access to the course.
Final Exam:
Once you have completed
all 6 units of the Maine Mature Driver course, you must take a
final exam. The final exam consists of questions that are based
on the material that you have read throughout the course. You
only need to answer 80% of the questions correctly in order to
pass the course. The final exam may be retaken at no additional
charge.
Completion Certificate:
Once you have passed the
final exam, your Certificate of Completion will be processed and
mailed to the address of your choice. All you need to do to
receive your insurance discount is deliver the insurance copy of
your certificate to your auto insurance company.
